Why HR professionals can no longer ignore mobile learning |

As HR and training professionals we are challenged to find new ways to engage employees in learning beyond the traditional classroom environment. The growth of mobile technology provides a significant opportunity to change the way we think about, and provide, skills training. With more than 77 million mobile phones in the UK, and other mobile devices – such as MP3 players, PDAs and pocket PCs – becoming part of daily life, the delivery mechanism for mobile learning is already in place. Mobile learning will enable our employees to learn independently, at a time and place that suits them. It can be especially useful for reaching employees across a number of locations, or those who require “just in time” support. For instance, for field-based staff who may need guidance on a specific procedure, mobile learning has the potential to be particularly effective. Article link
